I am Ásta Olga Magnusdottir, an independent project manager and new media designer. My interest and research fields within ICT include mobile technology for social impact, critical design and urban informatics.
My ongoing activities are:
MELFA is a mobile learning application aimed at adults with literacy and language problems in the Western Cape, South Africa. I work in close collaboration with educators, software developers and linguists, and I am involved in both project management and design. MELFA is a DANIDA IPD project 2007-2010. Movement Lab is a site-specific interactive/participatory dance piece where synesthetic experiences between body movements and movements in a city are explored.

Ntonga, an upcoming music school founded by the Playing For Change Foundation, is situated in Gugulethu, one of the previously disadvantaged areas in the vicinity of Cape Town.
